Vaalplasie is our love story, born from a passion for travel and camping. In 2001, Christian and Gisela kick-started their journey on the Zebrasafari, a zebra-painted kombi trip across Africa to Germany. In 2006, Vaalplasie became our canvas near Parys, on the Vaal River’s banks. Here, we’ve crafted a dream—museum, Lazy River Roadhouse, Gypsy Motel, and a unique venue for gatherings, events, and our annual celebrations. We’re biker, pet, and child-friendly, welcoming all to share stories around our campfire. Join our evolving tale at Vaalplasie.

Basic bedding supplied for the double beds in each caravan. Please bring extra bedding if sleeping more than 2, or if it’s cold.
